Facebook Stars may be automatically turned on for your public Reels and video posts. If Stars are not automatically turned on, you can apply to collect Stars on your content.

How to set up Facebook Stars Monetisation

To setup Facebook Stars monetisation, there are steps you need to take, we provide two guides below for PC and mobile users.

Set up Facebook Stars monetisation from a mobile

Go to monetisation tools in your Professional dashboard or tap the Monetise tab on your Page.

  1. Under Tools to try, select Stars.
  2. Accept Terms and Conditions. You can begin using Stars at this point, but you will not receive earnings until you set up a payment account so that we can route your Stars earnings in a timely, consistent manner.
  3. Set up a payment account. If you’ve already set this up, you can select your existing account or set up an additional account.
  4. Find Stars under Your tools in your Professional dashboard or in Monetisation.

Set up Stars monetisation on the computer

  1. Click on the notification that you received or go to Creator Studio > Monetisation to begin setup.
  2. Accept Terms and Conditions. You can begin using Stars at this point, but you will not receive earnings until you set up a payment account so that we can route your Stars earnings in a timely, consistent manner.
  3. Set up a payment account. If you’ve already set up a payout account, you can select your existing account or set up an additional account. To set up a new payout account:
    1. Add your details when prompted (you will need your tax form).
  4. Upload your tax form.
  5. Link your bank or PayPal account.
  6. Review your details.
  7. You are done

Now that you have setup you Facebook stars monetization, the next steps are not required to complete the setup and can be done later.

  1. Go to Creator Studio > Monetisation > Stars to continue setting up Stars.
  2. Follow the best practices outlined in Tips to get started with Stars.
  3. Go Live with Stars enabled

To manage your Stars

Once you are completely done with your Sars setup, to manage your Stars settings;

  • Go to Creator Studio
  • Click on Monetisation
  • and then Stars.

You can set up Stars and add your financial information within six months of signing the Terms of Service.
